Update: I have heard (read?) rumors that NetAuthority, who I spent so much vitriol on in the last post is bogus. More info as events warrant...

Just some random links you might find enjoyable:
A new(?) idea for all you roll player geeks: dungeons and hamsters!! ROLL THE 12 SIDED HAMSTER! I've also become deathly afraid that NET AUTHORITY is going to be breathing down my neck now that I've mentioned someone who is a KNOWN INTARNET ABUSAR!!!1! I really dig self important watchdog groups that think they have any authority over anyone. This morsel of self rightiousness is direct from their website. Read it and weep:
What is Net Authority?
The Net Authority is a group of individuals who have taken it upon themselves to govern the Internet. We have waited patiently and in vain for the World's governments to put their resources together and develop a standard set of guildelines for what material should be permitted on the Internet, and what should not. We have prayed without answer for a centralized agency with the power and the means to stop crimes against humanity on the Internet. The time for waiting has ended. Clearly we, the people, must take matters into our own hands. Net Authority writes those guidelines. Net Authority is that agency.
Self Important? Just a little...
But enough of the negative tip. I get my bike back from the shop later today, as if you all care. And, I should have my motorcycle back on the road very soon too. I busted a couple of screws while replacing the footpegs, and once I get those replaced, I'll be a happy guy.
Anyway, here's conspiracy theories to keep you entertained and worried about the boogie man under your bed. And a fun little article I found comparing religion to brainwashing. Fun Stuff.
And as always, the art on MegaTokyo is as good as ever, and they just started an new chapter in the adventures of Piro and Largo. no b33r h3r3!
Last but not least, for all you super-l337 g33ks, neon for your computer.
I almost forgot, I pickedup Half Life:Blue Shift last night. I hate to say it, but I'm not terribly impressed so far. It's missing the tension and spookyness that made the original Half-Life so much fun. And it's very short. At least I didn't pay full price for it.
Dang this was long...

I don't think its really sunk in yet that I actually graduated. Only seven short years ago, (umm, actually nine if you count the couple years I took off...) I started on this grand journey of higher education. And now its over. And just like graduates everywhere, I have no idea what to do. Suddenly I've got all this free time that I didn't before. Do I throw myself into my job 80 hours a week? Take up some new hobbies? Vegitate? Or even, (shock, gasp) buy a TV?(the horror!)
I suppose I should start with a new job and see what happens.
Otherwise, my bike goes in the shop this afternoon. I'm upgrading the rear whirly-bits to all 9 speed XT/XTR. Should be nice. Specifically, if you care, the rear derailure and cassette are going to 9 speed XTR. With the required new chain. And I got XT shifters. I didn't think the XTR shifters were worth the extra 100 bones. Next, the fork!!(ps I've now spent more on upgrades than I did on the bike originally. sheesh.)

Hey Ben
Soon after I asked you the question about your web site I figured it out. But I do have another question for you. My CD player will no longer recgonize CD's. If it is an auto run disk it works just fine, but for the disks that I have that I treat like they where floppies, I can't get any information from or to them. And how did we get to the screen where we got ride of napster?
See you soon

I found a few
programs that might be of use to you. Let me know how (if?) these work. I haven't tried them myself.
As a general site about advertising tho, adbusters has some really cool info. This doesn't relate to your questions, but check it out anyway. Expecially the spoof ads.
For the bookmark, I've got two ideas for you. Go to my site, and before you click anything, re-add it to your favorites. I'm guessing you might have had the cursor in the home.php frame, so it bookmarked that frame. Or,
- click on favorites
- right click on the link to my site
- hit properties
- click the "web document" tab at the top
- change the url to just www.bjstaab.com
And last but not least. I can't remember how to do the Windows 98 password thing off the top of my head. But Microsoft can help with that.

Ok one other thing that I would like to know. Is there a program that would stop pop-up ads? You know that kind that pop-up when you enter a web site. Cuz those are just to annoying for words

I packed an extra swim suit for you. Say I got Norton Virous scan and a fire wall. I just instaled it last night and it did find and get ride of a virous. I hope everything goes well now. Hey and make sure you burn me off a copy of those new disks. I almost forgot... When I save your site under favorites it saves it as www.bjstaab.com/home.php I then don't get the quote and link parts of your site.

I bought some new music this weekend. I got Soulside's greatest bumps If you like rap at all (Matt), this album is should definatly be in your collection. I've only been able to listen to it once, but it's great. Great beats(thanks to DJ Shadow), good lyrical flow. Way out rhymes. Definatly head and shoulders above typical "popular" rap (*coff*Jiggypuffdaddy*ahem*).
Oh, and I also got Live Fat, Die Young (Fat Music v5), had to complete my collection. And Dressy Bessy. Because Deb won't listen to rap. :\ Plus they make me feel all happy when I listen to them...
Anyway, two classes left.

Hi Ben
yes i do have the latest driver. I'm contacting their support and there are a few things that I don't know:
What IRQ is my product using?
What is the BIOS type/revision in my computer? I have to work until 7 I won't be home until close to 8 and then I have to go wrk out. So if you want to call call after midnight. Or you can call after 6 on Wendsday I should be avalible.

Matt, I'll call you later about the computer stuff, just off the top of my head I'm wondering about soundcard drivers. If you have the most recent ones or not. Do you still have all that SoundBlaster stuff running in the background too? And I never did have Siren 2.0. I'm still using 1.5. Sorry.
Now, I know everyone has been wondering what to get me for graduation. ;) I've been thinking about that myself. As always, cash is always good. Otherwise, my new favorite online store is over at www.thinkgeek.com. I would direct your attention to the loveley selection of mugs Expecially the RTFM or WTF mugs. (If you have to ask what those stand for, you probably don't want to know...hee hee) Of course, the t-shirts are also pretty cool. Or, if you like, they have some extremely cool computer cases.
But really, all I need for graduation is a cool new job...

I would like to remind everyone that
Half-Life: Blue Shift comes out this month.
I'm still on track to graduate in only two weeks. I wish I could say I'm really excited. But the feeling is more akin to relief that it's finally over. At least over for now anyway. Hello grad school! Just let me catch up on sleep first...

hey ben, glad to hear you have your reservations - you have relatives you could stay with too in the twin cities, or you could just drive to your dad's, it's only a couple hours, of course how late are you getting in?
hello to Deb, thanks for spell checking! I am so sorry you can't come to WI this time, please try again!

For all those who were wondering about my trip to Wisconsin. I booked my flight today. I'll be flying into Minneapolis on Friday night June 15th. I figure I can drop by my dad's on the way to oskosh for the wedding. I couldn't get the whole next week off, So I have to fly out again on the afternoon of the 20th. Then it's back to work.
In other news, work continues on the site. I'm trying to figure out how to use cookies with php. Not going too well so far. But I'll figure it out.
I'm also still working on getting
fsrc going. Deb was kind enough to point out a couple spelling mistakes I made.
Thanks!!!
now all I need is a rental car. Matt, what are the chances I could crash at Erika's place friday night?

Nice to see you here Deb, glad you could make it. To everyone else, (both of you) thanks for the posts. I was hoping this could be some sort of free form message board to keep in touch with everybody. Sort of like email, but more public. Plus I just liked the challenge of programming this thing. :)
